City Centre Ajman expansion project nearly complete
Work on the project began in the second half of 2016
Dubai’s Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) has announced that work on the City Centre Ajman expansion project is nearly complete.
Work on the $163m upgrade began in the second half of 2016, and once completed, it will double the size of the mall from 29,000 square metres to 52,000 square metres.
Following the expansion, the mall will also be refurbished and redesigned. Once completed, MAF says that the mall will be able to accommodate 150 stores, while the number of parking spaces for vehicles will double from 1,600 to 3,200.
The mall is being fitted with additional prayer rooms, while LED lighting is being deployed across the development. Restrooms are also being fitted with water-saving technology, while new screens and theatres designed for children are being added to the mall’s Vox Cinemas.
“We are excited for new food and beverage and retail stores to be joining our vibrant mall and offering our customers much more variety by the end of this year,” commented Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, managing director for Majid Al Futtaim Properties – Shopping Malls in the UAE, Bahrain, and Oman. “With more than 150 stores and food options, we are confident that City Centre Ajman will be the lifestyle destination of choice for residents and tourists in the months to come.”
The mall has remained open to visitors during the expansion process. Majid Al Futtaim says that it deployed temporary parking facilities, and commissioned new entry and exit roads with signage to guide mall visitors.
