Imdaad establishes JV to target Qatar FM market
Tie up with Abuissa Holdings is intended to take advantage of an anticipated surge in FM demand
Imdaad, the UAE based facilities management provider, will link up with the Qatar based Abuissa Holdings to establish a presence in the market as part of its regional strategic expansion plan for 2012 to 2017.
The move is intended to take advantage of an anticipated surge in demand for facilities management services in Qatar as the construction boom in the country gathers pace.
As a result, Abuissa Holdings aims at capitalising on Imdaad’s experience in total facilities management services, soft services, recycling, waste management, power generator rentals and consultancy to develop and maintain a successful joint venture.
“Qatar remains one of the most lucrative markets for facilities management services, driven by its economy and widespread development projects being implemented across the country. Imdaad’s strategic partnership with Abuissa Holdings gives us a significant head start in our expansion drive in the Qatari market, giving us greater leverage to reach out to various market segments through its extensive presence across key industries in the country,” said Jamal Abdulla Lootah, CEO of Imdaad.
“Building on the success of our expansion initiative in Qatar, we will continue to fortify our presence in the region, taking advantage of our strategic alliances and Imdaad’s track record as a leading provider of integrated facilities management in the Middle East,” he added.
Some of Imdaad’s most prominent FM projects include the Jebel Ali Free Zone, the Burj Khalifa and the Ibn Battuta Mall, to name a few.
This partnership will reinforce Abuissa Holding’s presence in the market, said Ashraf Abu Issa, chairman of AIH, as its wide range of services would complement the strongest FM market player in the region.
“Our country has an enthusiasm to learn about facilities management best practices. Although the market is very young, the learning curve in Qatar will be very quick and the highest standards will definitely be implemented. With facilities management being a strategic and essential service to our market, Imdaad will be offering world class and state of the art services in Qatar,” he added.
