Sharjah’s Al Majaz phase 2 ‘to complete by year-end’
Extension of waterfront family and tourism project, currently 90% complete, will add 53,000 square feet to the total area
The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced that it will finalise the new extension of the Al Majaz Waterfront tourist destination by the end of this year, at a total cost of AED 35 million, reports WAM.
The phase two extension project, which is currently 90% complete, will add 53,000 square feet to the total area, taking it to 284,000 square feet.
“Since its inauguration in 2012, the 231,000 square feet Al Majaz Waterfront has established itself as one of Sharjah’s leading family and tourist destinations and one of the most popular attractions in the UAE. The park’s visitor numbers are growing,” said Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, COO of Shurooq.
According to Mohammed Fadhil Al Mazroui, Manager of Al Majaz Waterfront, the expansion adds to a number of facilities, most notably a range of cafes and restaurants.
