Abu Dhabi: Works on $35m Shakhbout Girls School set to begin
Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) says construction to commence in early November
The Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) has announced that it plans to commence construction works for the Shakhbout Girls School project in early November.
Musanada said that the AED 129 million ($35m) project, marking the conclusion of Phase VI of the future school construction initiative in the emirate, aims to keep up with the development of the educational sector and the improvements to teaching approaches, according to the UAE state news agency WAM.
Construction work on the school, situated on a 50,192 square meter plot, is expected to be completed by May 2018.
It consists of a three-storey building with a total built up area of 22,716 square meters. The school will accommodate 2,100 female students and will have 70 classrooms, laboratories, a sports hall, library, multi-purpose hall, swimming pool, cafeteria, and administrative offices, as well as external playgrounds, car parking and landscaped areas.
