Manitowoc unveils the GT8 and GT10A truck cranes
New truck crane models to be used to lift heavy equipment at high speed and efficiency
US cranes manufacturer, Manitowoc Company Inc. has launched two new truck crane models, the GT8 and GT10A.
Offering an 8-tonne capacity, the GT8 has a 17.4-metre main boom and a 6-metre jib that can combine to give an overall lifting height of 23.9 metres. With this maximum combination, the crane can lift 1.3 tonnes to a 5-metre radius.
Both lifting and driving power come from a single engine that produces 450 Nm of torque at 1,400 rpm. The boom features a four-plate design, and can be fully extended in 35 seconds.
The 10-tonne GT10A has a main boom of 19.9 metres, which can be extended fully in just 40 seconds. With its jib attachment, the crane’s reach is increased to 25.8 metres.
The crane can reach hoisting speeds of 105 m/min and has a top road speed of 74 km/h. It is powered by an 101 kW engine for both lifting and driving power, and the total weight of the crane is 11.3 tonnes.
