DP World completes Phase I of Al Hamriya Port upgrade

Marine terminal operator aims to modernise and upgrade port to meeting growing commercial needs

The world’s third-largest marine terminal operator, DP World has completed the first phase of Dubai’s al Hamriya Port development, aimed at modernising and upgrading the port to meet customers and fishermen’s growing needs.

The first phase includes the upgrading of 93,000m2of yard, which has been paved, metal fenced, and gated, and are now available for lease for traders and logistics companies.

The second phase will include a modern facility for the exclusive use of the fishing industry at the port. The development will create a new 1,650-metre long wharf with a capacity to accommodate 190 fishing boats.

Construction work has already begun on the facility and is due to be completed this year.
