Masdar City named leader of GCC sustainable projects

A report conducted by Ventures Middle East ahead of the World Eco Construct summit, has found the UAE will see new contracts to the value of US$15.8 billion awarded in 2012.
The figure, representing a 26.57% increase on 2011, also cited the UAE’s sustainable projects as making a significant contribution to the total, particularly Masdar’s sustainable suppliers’ initiative, Future Build.
“The importance of the construction sector in the local economy makes this event very important for the Municipal System to participate in,” commented Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Shareef.
“The DMA and the three municipalities of Abu Dhabi Emirate, all play an important role in achieving sustainable development as per the Abu Dhabi 2030 vision,” he added.
The total value of current projects in the UAE stands at $1.249 trillion
