EC Harris appointed to region’s largest healthcare project
Consultancy landed two years contract on Doha’s Hamad Medical City
Built asset consultancy, EC Harris, has accepted a contract to deliver the next phase of the region’s largest ever healthcare facilities, Hamad Medical City.
The 25,000 square metre Doha facility, will include a medicine and rehabilitation hospital, an ambulatory and surgical centre, a women’s hospital and a complete teaching and research complex.
“Hamad Medical Corporation has consistently looked to provide excellent healthcare services to the people of Qatar,” Conor Ellis, global account leader at EC Harris said.
“The latest development of Hamad Medical City is further evidence of this ongoing commitment as the state of the art facilities will not only facilitate clinical and research developments but also help Qatar in their efforts to recruit and retain the best available staff,” Ellis added.
The two year contract will see EC Harris responsible for project and programme management, design management and workforce planning services for the new complex utilising expertise and experience gained in the delivery of many of the world’s largest hospital complexes.
The firm will be responsible for overall leadership and co-ordination of the project, inputting on areas ranging from the completion of design drawings through to assessing the number of staff that will be required once the project is complete. This integrated approach will allow HMC to concentrate on delivering outstanding patient experience and moving forward their extensive healthcare plans for Qatar.
