Meraas unveils The Outlet Village mall in Dubai
Discounted shopping destination set to open in third quarter
The Dubai-based real estate developer Meraas has announced details of its latest retail development, The Outlet Village, which it bills as the UAE’s first upscale outlet mall.
Due for completion in the third quarter of this year, the mall will have 25,000 square metres of gross leasable area and will feature more than 100 retail brands offering discounted high-end products, Meraas said in a press announcement.
Located adjacent to Dubai Parks and Resorts, the mall’s design is inspired by San Gimignano, a historic hilltop town in the countryside of Tuscany in Italy, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990, Meraas said.
The developer added that it has brought together renowned architects, designers, consultants and top-tier contractors to ensure that The Outlet Village is shaped into a distinctive retail destination emulating the ambiance of San Gimignano. Medieval-style towers, arched walkways and bridges, stone fountains, courtyards and a stone wishing well will pay homage to the artistic legacy of the scenic Italian town, it was revealed.
Omar Ghalib Al Bustami, director of Project Management Leisure and Entertainment at Meraas, said: “We are thrilled to add another remarkable concept to Dubai’s thriving retail landscape. The Outlet Village brings together striking aesthetics inspired by a rich past with contemporary lifestyle, inviting visitors to explore the contrast between old and new. We are sparing no effort to evoke the charm of San Gimignano and ensure that this distinctive shopping experience includes much-loved and prestigious brands to perfectly match the needs of today’s sophisticated customer.”
The Outlet Village will host luxury and contemporary high street fashion brands, as well as popular sportswear and equipment, furniture and household goods at attractive prices. There will also be a variety of food and beverage venues, Meraas added.
