Master-plan for Al Raha Beach by Aldar approved after revisions
Top chief at Aldar expresses delight; says master-plan better-suited to customers and market demand
The revised master-plan for Al Raha Beach, presented to the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (ADUPC) by Aldar Properties, was recently approved for further development.
A mixed-use development, Al Raha Beach is being constructed adjacent to the E10 highway in Abu Dhabi, close to the landmark Yas Island in the emirate, and includes a reclaimed land along the coast, with canals and islands interlinked by boulevards to create a waterfront community over 20KM long.
“The approval is a strong example of the continuous cooperation between the ADUPC and developers & investors of major projects,” said Mohamed Al Khadar, executive director, Development Review and Estidama, ADUPC.
Al Raha Beach East is the first phase of overall Al Raha Beach development, and is expected to include more than 3,000 apartments, townhouses and villas with 50,000 sqm as office space, as per a statement by the company.
The master-plan includes plans for public realm typologies, infrastructure, streetscapes, land use, community facilities, and civil defence access within the Detailed Master Plan Report.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of our collaborative work with the UPC on the Al Raha Beach master-plan,” said Mohammed Al Mubarak, deputy CEO of Aldar Properties. “It is considerably improved to match the needs of our customers and today’s market demand.
“We are seeing significant sales and leasing pick-up on Al Raha Beach; this is great news for us as it paves the way to bring new, high-quality residential product to market this year,” Al Mubarak added.
