Galfar awarded $24.45m Omani water project

Project set to be completed within two years, Public Authority for Electricity and Water

Galfar Engineering and Contracting Company announced on Saturday that it had been awarded a tender for the construction of a water network project by the Public Authority for Electricity and Water.
According to a Times of Oman report, the project will cost $24.45m and will be completed within two years. It will be located in the wilayat of Al Rustaq, Governorate of South Al Batinah.
A further 60 days will be added for mobilisation, the company said in a stock market filing.
In September of this year, Galfar announced that it had won contracts from the Oman Electricity Transmission Company for the construction of grid stations across the Sultanate. These projects were worth a total of $78.24m.
Galfar’s order book, which is worth more than $1.8bn, is expected to climb further as the company expects more projects to be awarded in the near future.
