India’s Oberoi Group to manage two hotels in Qatar
Hospitality chain will manage 250-key hotel and 148-room serviced apartment building in Doha
India’s Oberoi Group has inked contracts to manage two new luxury properties in Doha, the hospitality company said in a statement.
One of the hotels will be a 250-key luxury property in the West Bay area of Doha, while the other will be a 148-key serviced apartment building in Lusail.
Planning of both projects is underway, and construction will begin early next year with completion of both hotels expected in mid-2018.
Both the projects in Qatar are being funded by the Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company (SAQ), the Oberoi Group said.
“We are extremely pleased to have been selected by the Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company (SAQ) to assist them in the design and management of these two projects, and we look forward to bringing the Oberoi hospitality to the Qatar market,” said P.R.S. Oberoi, executive chairman, The Oberoi Group.
The hospitality firm currently operates a hotel in Dubai’s Business Bay District, and is also set to manage a luxury beach resort in Ajman which will open in the second quarter of 2016.
