Nakheel’s first project launch since its financial restructuring has taken place with the opening of the 10,600sqm Jumeirah Park Pavillion.

The project aims to serve residents across Nakheel’s Jumeirah Park, Jumeirah Islands and Jumeirah Village developments. Parkway International Construction was appointed main contractor in July 2012 for the project. The contract value at the time was worth $7.4 million.

Nakheel Pavilions are part of our commitment to enhancing and improving our communities with new services and facilities for the thousands of people who live in them,” Nakheel chairman Ali Rashid Lootah said at the opening. “They also promote economic, social and environmental sustainability, by creating jobs, bringing people together and cutting car use.”

Nakheel’s other retail centres currently under-way at Al Furjan, International City and Jumeirah Islands, as well as at Discovery Gardens, which is due to open this month, will be modelled on the blueprint of Jumeirah Park Pavilion.

The Dubai developer is also constructing Nakheel Mall at Palm Jumeirah, a 620,000 sqm mall at Deira Islands and a 185,806sqm mall at Jumeirah Village Triangle. Nakheel is also undertaking the expansion of Dragon Mart and Ibn Battuta malls.
