Jaidah Automotive, a subsidiary of the Doha based conglomerate Jaidah Group, announced on Sunday that it had appointed a new general manager to head up its growth in the Qatari market.

Mark Jenkins, a British citizen, has joined Jaidah Automative with immediate effect, bringing with him a wealth of automotive experience, accrued over a 30 year career spent in Saudi Arabia, Russia and the United Kingdom.

“I’m very much looking forward to the challenge,” Jenkins said, “Qatar is undergoing great change and it is becoming a very exciting and vibrant place to be, and the automotive market reflects that dynamism and optimism,” he said.

“As exclusive importers of the prestigious Chevrolet brand to Qatar, Jaidah Automotive has got the product in place to make an even bigger impact in the market, and it’s my job to make that happen with the help of the team in place here.”

As a seasoned automotive general manager, Jenkins has worked in every facet of the motor industry, from parts, to after sales, sales and marketing. He has spent the last decade in leadership roles, including two stints in Saudi Arabia.

“We’re very pleased to bring someone with Mark’s pedigree on board. His extensive experience and record of achievement within the motor industry speaks for itself and we’re confident he can take Jaidah Automotive to new heights,” said Mohamed Jaidah, chief development officer of Jaidah Group.
