Al Marwan General Contracting Company awarded Phase 2 infrastructure contract at Aljada
Work has already begun and will be completed by September 2021
Arada has announced that it has awarded a $27 million contract for Phase 2 of Aljada’s infrastructure works to Sharjah-based Al Marwan General Contracting Company. The infrastructure work within the $6.5 billion mixed-use project will support several different communities.
According to a statement from Arada, scope of work covers the provision of all infrastructure, including the construction of power, water, and communications networks. It also includes landscape and road construction, for East Village, the student housing community Nest, the SABIS International School -Aljada, and the fourth phase of Aljada, which is due to launch for sales later this year.
HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Arada, said: “We are continuing to focus heavily on our construction efforts in the second half of this year; in 2020 as a whole, we expect to award contracts worth more than $272 million in value.
“This infrastructure deal forms a critical part of our plan to bring a number of communities within Aljada to life, and we look forward to working with Al Marwan General Contracting Company to deliver an exceptional experience for residents and visitors alike.”
Arada stated that construction will start immediately and is due to be completed in September 2021. Additionally, Arada has recently awarded a $115 million contract for the construction of East Village – the second residential phase of Aljada as well as signed off a separate agreement for building the SABIS International School – Aljada. According to the statement, Arada is also planning to award the contract for the construction of its third phase – Nest student housing complex, before the end of 2020.
The first homes at Aljada are scheduled to be handed over to owners before the end of 2020, it added.
