Middle East Energy postponed to June next year

Organiser says decision to delay event by three months based on Covid-19-related feedback from participants and stakeholders

The organisers of Middle East Energy have announced that the power, electricity and energy sector exhibition has been rescheduled to June 14-16 next year, a postponement of three months from its traditional time slot of March.

Informa Markets, the organisers of the Dubai-based event, which has emerged as an important one in its sector both regionally and globally, said the decision “to run Middle East Energy in June of next year, rather than March, was one made with our partners and key stakeholders after conducting a number of industry research pieces which highlighted how businesses and economies are forecasting to improve from Q2 onwards in 2021.

“In light of the ongoing global situation relating to the Covid-19 pandemic, Informa Markets has been closely monitoring its impact on the global energy industry. As a result of feedback from stakeholders and participants, Middle East Energy and the supporting Global Energy & Utilities Forum will be rescheduled to 14 – 16 June, 2021. The event will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, United Arab Emirates,” said a statement from the organsiers.

“As has been the case over the last 46 years we continue to work with the industry to deliver the best and safest possible event experience for our participants. We will keep you informed of any new developments and initiatives to support bringing the community together through face to face events with complementary digital opportunities.”

The statement added that Informa Markets will continue to liaise directly with all relevant authorities, including the UAE Ministry of Health and the Dubai Health Authority, to keep abreast of all updates, and will keep the sector apprised of developments.

After Dubai’s announcement of officially reopening for events and exhibitions, the company is going ahead with some of its other events this year, such as Cityscape, from November 15-17, and Gulf Traffic, December 15-17. All events will be run in accordance with strict safety standards, the organiser added.
