Work begins on multiple municipal service projects in Bahrain

Development schemes aim to improve services for citizens of Gulf state

Work on a string of service projects across Bahrain has begun, with the aim of upgrading municipal services for citizens of the GCC state, it has been announced.

According to a report by Bahrain News Agency, the development schemes were launched by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, following directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.

The projects include road resurfacing in blocs 4561, 4571, 4568 and 4566 and the road opposite to Ruyan pharmacy. Other projects consist in pedestrian sidewalks, rainwater drainage, traffic lights and signs.

Work on the projects is expected to be complete next May, costing overall $1.32 million.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf paid an inspection visit to Bloc 745 in Sanad.

He was accompanied by Mp. Ali Mohammed Ishaqi, representative of the 10th constituency, the Capital Governorate, to assess citizens’ needs.

The minister also inspected Sanad garden located in Bloc 743 to assess needs of the locality.
