Kuwaiti government inks contracts worth $358mn for residential city project
Al Mutlaa Residential City will link Al Mutlaa city with the highway network
The Kuwaiti government has awarded contracts worth $358 million for the development of the Al Mutlaa Residential City project, according to a report from Kuwait’s state news agency, Kuna.
Kuwait’s Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr Jenan Ramadan, said that the contract will reflect a new strategic dimension that is in line with Kuwait’s overall development plan.
Ramadan stated that the Al Mutlaa Residential City project is considered one of the vital developments that will link Al Mutlaa city with the highway network (Al Abdaly Highway/Subiya Expressway), as it can accommodate 70 per cent of the traffic volume from the city.
Additionally, the minister indicated that the awarded contract will cover the establishment, completion, and maintenance works of roads and intersections in the residential project.
The Kuna report stated that this will boost the infrastructure of Al Mutlaa city as well as the road-network in North Kuwait, citing Ramadan, who is also the Public Works Minister.
The Public Authority for Roads and Transportation has also announced plans to sign other contracts after finalising the legal and regulatory procedures to boost the transportation network in the norther area, Kuna revealed.
