Arabtec Construction to create 3D Concrete Printing & Digital Construction Center
MoU signed with the American University of Dubai (AUD), Robert Bird Group (RBG) and 3Dvincy Creations
Arabtec Construction is collaborating with the American University of Dubai (AUD), Robert Bird Group (RBG) and 3Dvincy Creations, to establish the AUD Center for 3D concrete printing & digital construction in the UAE.
The 3D printing center aims to promote the use and knowledge of innovative construction technologies in the UAE and Middle East, said the company in a statement. It added that the companies involved in the MOU are working towards UAE developers taking advantage of this new innovative technology in forming 25% of the City-State’s new buildings by 2025.
“3D concrete printing is still a technology in its infancy, one that Arabtec Construction alongside leading organisations such as AUD, RBG and 3Dvincy Creations are keen to develop into an innovative solution for our industry,” said Arabtec Construction CEO Boyd Merrett. “This collaboration is a great opportunity for us to not only expand the knowledge of the UAE’s students, but allow the region’s construction industry to move one step closer to the UAE’s vision of 3D printed buildings.”
