Women in Construction Summit to take place on 1 May

Event hoping to raise awareness of crucial issues and drive gender diversity in the construction industry

The Construction Division at CPI Trade Media is proud to announce its inaugural Women in Construction (WiC) Summit. The free-to-attend event will take place on May 1, 2019 at the Oberoi Hotel Business Bay in Dubai.

Gender balance and fresh talent go hand in hand and are exactly what the built environment needs. A new event in CPI Trade’s yearly event roster, the Women in Construction Summit will comprise panel discussions that shine a light on crucial issues such as creating equal workspaces, rewarding talent and skill versus gender, on-site health and safety, dealing with hostility and bias and much more. Presentations will showcase inspirational career stories and share insights into the challenges that educational institutions, students and fresh graduates face.

The event will bring together professionals from the regional construction sector, faculty from renowned educational institutions as well as architecture and engineering students.

Hosted by Middle East Consultant and Big Project Middle East, the Summit marks the Construction Division’s ongoing focus on gender diversity in the construction sector.

“Gender diversity is something we’re passionate about at CPI Trade Media and although this is our first full-fledged Summit, it’s far from the beginning of our focus on this important topic. Middle East Consultant began its focus on diversity last year with a dedicated issue and website, a networking evening and an award that recognises exceptional women. Through our ongoing efforts, we hope to raise awareness about a number of crucial issues and, ultimately, drive gender diversity and the acquisition of fresh talent forward in this industry,” said Raz Islam, managing director at CPI Trade Media.
