Infrastructure projects worth $272 mn announced in Fujairah

Sheikh Mohammed approved $109 million for residential complexes in Khor Fakkan, as well

The UAE government has allocated $272 million for infrastructure projects in Fujairah as part of the 2017-2021 five-year plan that was implemented by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development. HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai made the announcement during his visit to Fujairah and Khor Fakkan.

Sheikh Mohammed stated: “All the regions of the UAE are important and have great development potential. Infrastructure projects are key to the nation’s development and prosperity.”

“Healthcare and education projects are vital to improving the quality of life of our communities, and we strive to provide the best facilities to our citizens,” he noted. “Our development efforts will be the same across the country, because the vision is the same and the land is the same.”

Another plan approved by the Ruler of Dubai allocated $109 million to build residential complexes in Khor Fakkan, which will be executed by the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future; and Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.

Sheikh Mohammed also visited the 16,500 sqm court project in Khor Fakkan as well as reviewed the renovation and maintenance of Hamad bin Abdullah Road in Fujairah, which is being implemented at a cost of $54 million and will be ready by the first half of 2020. Meanwhile, Al Nuaimi briefed His Highness on the progress of the $46 million Maliha Road Renovation and Development project which is set for completion in December 2019 during the visit.
