Monaco reveals Expo 2020 Dubai pavilion
The pavilion, which has a budget of $10.2 million will showcase the various attributes of the famous French Riviera destination

The Monaco Pavilion for Expo 2020 Dubai was unveiled last week at an event attended by Prince Albert II, which showed off its theme ‘Monaco 360°’, a world of opportunities.

The 1,700sqm pavilion will be spread over different levels and will include an exhibition area, a souvenir shop and a restaurant on the ground floor. Visitors will have the option to experience two main exhibition halls. The first is ‘Garden of Opportunities’ and will showcase projects and high-quality pioneering work, made in Monaco and internationally. A statement said that it will look like a kaleidoscopic fantasy garden that comes out of one’s imagination. The second area, Kaleidoscope- will be a show that reveals the identity of Monaco that will have a 360° immersion that takes the visitors into the history, culture and values of Monaco and its citizens.

All facilities of the pavilion are interactive, with diverse interfaces that offer multiple forms of engagement to interested and curious visitors, the statement reported. The first floor of the pavilion will have a private and flexible space, Rock- for events, conferences and meetings and accentuate the participation of the principality.

Designed by architectural firm AODA, Monaco’s pavilion will reflect its commitment to sustainability by using solar panels which will bring electricity consumption at the pavilion close to zero. They have also pledged to use recycled water, wherever possible.

Expo 2020 Dubai organisers said that Monaco’ pavilion will be part of the Opportunity District has been inspired by the ‘Rock of Monaco’ and will have a gem-like polygonal shaped design.
