Emaar’s Address Dubai Mall refurbishment drawing to a close
The hotel’s initial design was delivered in March 2017 by Meyer Davis Studio
Dubai-based real estate company, Emaar Properties is close to completing the refurbishment for its hotel, the Address Dubai Mall in Downtown Dubai.
The hotel was reopened with the renewed design for its phase one launch in the last quarter of 2018. Design firm SSH confirmed that the final phase is now drawing to a close.
SSH said that they were contracted to formulate a proposed design in a two-phase programme which involved three months’ full shutdown of public areas and partial guestroom refurbishment. This was followed by partial shutdown to complete the guest room upgrade on individual floors for another three months.
Michael Byron, resident director for UAE, at SSH, said: “We’re thrilled that Emaar trusted us with the challenge of delivering an innovative and contemporary design within the tight constraints of the project programme. With work nearly complete on the final phase, we hope that the renewed property provides a unique guest experience with all the luxury hallmarks Address hotels are famed for.”
SSH also said that its interior design division is responsible for the refurbishment of public areas, guestrooms and suites, delivering detailed design and IFC documentation, while co-ordinating with the client and project consultants, and carrying out local sourcing of materials and value engineering.
Its scope of services included arrival lobby and reception lobby, the lobby lounge, ballroom, pre-function and meeting rooms as well as the business centre and the club lounge, the company added in the statement.
Linked directly to Dubai Mall, the Address Dubai Mall is part of Address Hotels + Resorts by Emaar Hospitality Group.
