Kuwait to float construction tenders
Projects part of the country’s State Development Plan, Minister of Public Works says
The Kuwaiti Cabinet has announced tenders for several projects are set to be floated once their designs have been completed.
The projects include the third phase of the maintenance, restoration and upgrade of the First Ring Road; construction works and restoration of roads and its service in Al-Fahahel commercial zone.
A number of local infrastructure projects are also included, with the eastern area of the City of Jahra, Doha area, Cairo Road, the Second Ring Road, Damascus Road, Third Ring Road and Jaber Al-Ahmad City, Fifth Ring Road, Nawaseeb Road and East of Sulaibikhat, all up for grabs, the Minister of Public Works, Dr Fadhel Safar, was quoted as saying by KUNA.
The ministry also plans to tender construction projects including the maintenance, restoration and upgrade of Maternity, IbnSina, Alrazi and Paediatrics hospitals.
Al-Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kaber Governorate’s headquarters, New Information Ministry buildings, the restoration and upgrade of Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 2 are also up for tender.
Also included were Al-Farwaniyah Cultural Centre; buildings for the ministries of public works and electricity, Borrowing and Lending Bank branches, as well as the compounds of private schools in Fintas, Jahra and Hawali, Dr Safar added.
“The majority of these projects are part of the Kuwait’s State Development Plan,” the minister said.
