Emirates Steel hails recognition for its role in UAE industrial sector

Emirates Steel wins Diamond category Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award

Emirates Steel Industries, a SENAAT company says that winning the Diamond Category of the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award held in Abu Dhabi confirms its place as a leading company in the industrial sector in UAE.

HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court and a member of the Executive Council presented the Diamond Category to Engineer Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi, CEO of Emirates Steel, at a ceremony held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award, which comes as an acknowledgement of our achievements that contribute to the development of the company in particular and the national industrial sector as a whole,” said  Engineer Al Remeithi. “The Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award is an effective criterion for excellence and quality and we are pleased that the company’s success has placed us in a distinguished position in the industrial sector.”

Al Remeithi added that Emirates Steel: “plays a leading role in the steelmaking industry and in promoting the interests of Abu Dhabi and the UAE in this strategic region, which is witnessing a remarkable economic upturn Winning the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award is an achievement for the company and a response to the guidance of the leadership supporting and spreading a culture of excellence and institutional competitiveness, driving us to attain more success and accomplish achievements.

He commented that Emirates Steel improved and developed its performance in the field of leadership, strategy, innovation, corporate social responsibility as well as many other sectors. Hence, this qualified the company to win the Award, noting that the company has implemented many value-added initiatives at the environmental and economic levels, one of them notably being the Carbon Capture Project.

“In 2012, we were awarded the Silver Category and we decided to do our best to further develop our performance and address the comments received from the management of the Award. We worked hard and we won the Golden version of the Award in 2014. We then continued to work harder and persevered until we reached what we have reached today,” he said. “Excellence is a continuous journey and we are working to develop best practices to serve our customers and partners. The Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award is a drive to deliver more outstanding services to our customers and we will work hard to strengthen the company’s position in the UAE and the region in general.”
