“In the Middle East Tekla has been raising the awareness of BIM and its benefits and is a founding member and a key supporter to buildingSMART to help setup its MENA & India chapter.”
”At Tekla we know how fragmented and complex construction projects can be,” said executive vice president of Tekla Risto Räty; as buildingSMART supporter the company helped establish the MENA and India chapter and offers its BIMSight on free download.
”We also know that building information models have a way of making reality seem much less complicated. We will be there for our existing and potential customers each year with more and more organized BIM software and the most devoted technical support in the industry to enable them collaborate across all organisations to make great deliverables for building and construction.”
Iconic Projects modeled using Tekla’s BIM Software
Tekla has been involved –through its clients- in shaping the skylines around the world. Many of the iconic projects globally were modeled using Tekla software. For instance, the Bird’s Nest Stadium built as the main arena for the Beijing Olympics two years ago, and the Wembley Stadium renewed in 2007 in London, were both modeled using Tekla Structures. Other iconic projects modeled with the software include the world’s highest building, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Aldar HQ, the world’s most leaning tower in Abu Dhabi; the Capital Gate, Ski Dubai, the F1 Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, and thirteen of the pavilions of the Shanghai World Expo to name few projects. In the future
“Tekla Structures is used across the world in the most demanding construction sites possible. This is highly indicative not only of the quality of the software, but also of the international recognition of our competence,” says Risto Räty of Tekla.
“To show the commitment toward supporting OpenBIM and interoperability, Tekla has announced the launch of a free BIM software during a VIP Dinner ceremony that was held at Burj Al Arab Earlier in March this year. It was attended by top executives and influential decision makers across the leading construction companies in the Middle East.
”Tekla’s mission is to drive the evolution to digital information modeling, multiplying our customers’ potential to think and achieve big in their projects and businesses,” explains Tekla Executive Vice President Risto Räty.
”Understanding BIM as a centralized process rather than ’just a model’ requires cooperation and goodwill between the construction disciplines. This is exactly what we want to achieve with the new Tekla BIMsight software, and our part of the goodwill is to distribute it for free for the whole industry to easily take into use.”
