The UAE-based Al Shafar General Contracting (ASGC) has announced the completion of structural work on the Marina Bloom development in Abu Dhabi.

Developed by Bloom Properties, Marina Bloom will feature a five-star hotel, 57 serviced apartments, and waterfront retail areas. The project is located in Abu Dhabi Marina in the Al Bateen area.

ASGC began initial construction work on the project in April last year. The development is scheduled for completion in Q3 2016, the contractor said in a statement.

“This development, which is mixed-use and includes a five star hotel, once again demonstrates ASGC’s expertise in the delivery of quality hospitality and residential construction projects,” said Bishoy Azmy, CEO of ASGC.

Last April, ASGC was awarded the contract from Bloom Properties to work on the Abu Dhabi Marina project. The project, occupying a plot area of nearly 42,000sqm, will feature 225 residential apartments, 200 hotel rooms and 3,000sqm of waterfront retail.

Other significant projects the contractor has worked on include the Waldorf Astoria Hotel at Dubai’s Pal Jumeirah, City Walk in Jumeirah and Vision Tower in Business Bay.
