Bloom Hospitality has announced the development of a five-star hotel at Abu Dhabi Marina, which is set to be operated under the Edition brand.

The company, a subsidiary of the UAE-based Bloom Holding, made the announcement during the Cityscape Global exhibition, currently underway at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2016, the hotel will have 200 rooms and 57 serviced apartments.

Edition Hotels is a boutique hotel venture owned by American hotelier and real estate developer Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott International. It currently has four hotels located in London, Miami Beach, New York City and Istanbul.

The new hotel will be part of the Abu Dhabi Marina mixed-use development in the Marina Al Bateen area, which will feature residences, serviced apartments, health clubs, cafes and restaurants.

The Abu Dhabi Marina project will also feature 57 executive apartments as well as two residential buildings comprising 225 apartments, ranging from one to four bedrooms. The development is built on a plot area of 41,797sqm, with a total built up area of 150,000sqm. Construction on the waterfront development is currently 70% complete, and handover of the project is set for the third quarter of 2016.

Bloom Hospitality has previously launched a 188-key hotel apartment building in Park View, a mixed-use development set to take shape on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island. Its portfolio also includes the five-star 315-Room Abu Dhabi Marriott Hotel, located in the Bloom Central mixed-use development and set to open in Q1 2016.
