‘Yellow iron’ under the hammer at Ritchie Bros Dubai auction

Ritchie Bros Auctioneers (RBA) will this week hold a large auction in Dubai, with more than 1,900 pieces of heavy equipment and trucks set to go under the hammer.

Highlights include a 2011 60-tonne Terex A600-1 rough-terrain crane and a 200-tonne Grove GMK5200 all-terrain crane. The haul of lifters to be sold includes 14 rough-terrain cranes and 12 all-terrain cranes.

“With strong construction activity in several Middle Eastern countries, it’s a great time for construction businesses to either turn equipment into cash for reinvestment or acquire the machinery they need for upcoming projects,” said Eduard Faig, regional sales manager based at Ritchie Bros’ Dubai site.

“Our Dubai auctions are known for large line-ups of ‘yellow iron’ and our June auction will be no exception.”

Earthmoving equipment is well-represented in the catalogue, with 48 wheel loaders on the auction list, including an unused 2011 Caterpillar 950H, and 19 vibratory rollers, including two 2013 Caterpillar CS533Es.

Heavy vehicles are also going under the hammer, with 18 articulated dump trucks, including an unused 2012 Liebherr TA230 Litronic 6×6, and 78 dump trucks, including 21 Mercedes-Benz Actros 4040 6×4. Also to be sold are 15 concrete pump trucks, including three 2011 Mercedes-Benz Actros 3341 with a Sany SY5310THB40E pump.

Other highlights include 332 generator sets, with four unused 2015 Cummins gensets with 120 kVA ratings.

The auction takes place over two days, June 2 and 3.
