Meraas appoints lead consultant for Bulgari Resort in Dubai

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff to undertake geotechnical engineering, building services and roads-and-highway design

Developer Meraas has appointed WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff as lead consultant for the Bulgari Resort and Residences in Dubai, it has been announced.

Built on reclaimed land off the coastline of Dubai’s Jumeirah neighbourhood, the Bulgari Resort and Residences will comprise 101 rooms and suites in the main hotel building, 20 hotel villas and a range of luxury hotel facilities. The residences will consist of 165 apartments, eight penthouses and 15 mansions.

“Being an exclusive and first-of-its-kind development in the Middle East meant that the project required global expertise to deliver a sophisticated design with a unique ambiance and unprecedented levels of comfort, in addition to excitement and glamour,” said Mark Farley, project director at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff.

“We have achieved a few important project milestones already and are well on track for the project delivery in 2017.”

The island the hotel is to be built on will be sculpted in the shape of a gigantic seahorse and it will be joined to the mainland by a single-carriageway bridge.

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff will provide a range of consultancy services including geotechnical engineering, acoustics, architect of record, building services design, fire and life safety, integrated design management, roads and highways design, security consulting, structures design, transport integrated system (TIS), utilities design and vertical transportation.

The Bulgari Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Bay Island is the fifth Bulgari Hotels and Resorts property in the world. Residents will have access to a 50-berth Marina and Bulgari Yacht Club and the adjacent Bulgari Resort.
