Limitless, the Dubai-based master developer, has awarded a $77.5 million contract to Arco General Contracting for infrastructure work at its flagship mixed-use project in Downtown Jebel Ali.

Under the terms of the contract, the contractor will carry out the complete infrastructure works for the Dubai community, including roads, sewerage, utilities and lighting, in all four zones of the development.

This is to prepare the land plots for handover to third party developers. Mobilisation will begin immediately, with work scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017.

“The award of this contract is a huge step forward for Downtown Jebel Ali. We are delighted to welcome Arco on board,” said Mohammed Rashed bin Dhabeah, CEO of Limitless.

The Downtown Jebel Ali project spans 200 hectares and stretches for 11km along Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road. The project will have more than 300 third-party plots, which will see investors build a range of apartments, hotels, offices and retail developments.

Located between Jebel Ali Free Zone and Techno Park, zone 1 of the project will be accessible by Dubai Metro.

Limitless has already delivered The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali, which features office facilities and retail outlets, with residential units in the pipeline.
