DEWA to extend cables, connect substations in Dubai
Dubai’s DEWA announces 6 projects worth $24.5 million to connect substations in the Emirate

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has begun 6 projects worth $24.5 million to extend new 132kV cables that will connect 6 substations, the government body announced.
The projects will enhance the 132/11kV power transmission network by connecting the substations to existing power networks, DEWA said.
“The 6 projects… include supply, excavation work, and laying, testing, and commissioning of new 132 kV cables and connecting them to the 132/11kV substations in Jebel Ali, Burj Khalifa area, Dubai Land, Al Quoz, and Nad Al Sheba. Connecting these substations to the existing ones in these vital areas in Dubai will increase efficiency, reliability, and ensure stable and uninterrupted supply to all customers at all times,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, quoted in the statement.
Work on the projects began last September, DEWA said.
