KIZAD officially launched in Mumbai

The UAE’s flagship port project, Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) has received an official launch to more than 200 dignitaries at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai.

The event marked the launch of tenancy applications and a marketing campaign to promote the 417 sq km industrial zone, which is two thirds the size of Singapore.

“We are honoured to be launching our international marketing campaign in Mumbai,” said Khaled Salmeen, executive vice president of industrial zones for Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC).

“What we look to offer is the ability for businesses to come to Abu Dhabi and thrive through efficient access to markets, lower operating costs and a greater ease of doing business. These three critical success factors for global industry are key ingredients and will all feature over the long term,” he continued.

By 2030, KIZAD is expected to contribute around 15% of Abu Dhabi’s non-oil GDP and it is expected 60-80% of good manufactured at the port will be exported.

Located between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the port is one of the world’s most advanced deep water sea ports and links to transport infrastructure by sea, air, road and rail.Phase one is worth US $7.2 billion.

Those attending represented India’s most lucrative companies and industries. “India and the UAE have a long history of trade and business relations that facilitates our presence.

We believe that Kizad offers Indian businesses a great opportunity to expand their presence with facilities and advantages that justify doing business in Abu Dhabi,” Salmeen added.
