Aldar Properties’s newest flagship development and retail destination in Abu Dhabi, the Yas Mall, has been officially inaugurated.
The 232,000 sq. m development on Yas Island was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
“We are very pleased to open Yas Mall today which is set to add significant value to Abu Dhabi’s many leisure and entertainment attractions,” said Abubaker Seddiq Al Khoori, Chairman of Aldar Properties.
“We are proud of the role we are playing in Abu Dhabi’s social and economic growth. Led by the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Abu Dhabi government, we are all working towards the strategic vision of Abu Dhabi 2030,” said Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO of Aldar Properties.
The mall spans three floors and will house over 370 stores, along with providing a direct link to the Ferrari World theme park. It is also situated in proximity to other attractions such as Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Links, Yas Park and Yas Water World.
The development was designed to achieve a Two Pearl Estidama rating, by incorporating green strategies in its development, including the use of regionally sourced materials and improved outdoor thermal comfort through landscaping and shading devised over exterior parking and pedestrian pathways.
Yas Mall also scooped up the Development of the Year Award at the Big Project Middle East Awards 2014, held on November 18.
