Amity University begins work on new campus worth $81.6mn

At a ceremony attended by HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority amongst various respected dignitaries, Amity University broke ground for its new campus at Dubai International Academic City (DIAC).

“The development of a nation can be assessed by the amount of funds being poured into research and development,” said Dr. Ayoub Kazim, managing director of TECOM’s Education Cluster.

The campus will incorporate hi-tech laboratories and the latest technology for the University’s Departments of Engineering, Management, Hospitality and Forensic Science, and will provide extensive sports facilities including soccer pitches, an athletics track, aquatics centre, indoor multipurpose courts, gyms, cricket lanes and tennis courts, said a press release.

“Amity has committed $AED300mn ($81.6mn) towards setting up of this campus,” Kazim added.

Spanning 700,000 sq.ft. across DIAC, the campus is expected to be the largest for all private universities in the establishment, with completion slated for 2015.
