Volvo dealer FAMCO, part of the Al-Futtaim group of companies, has been awarded a silver partnership certificate by the manufacturer for its operational processes and quality standards.
The accolade, which has only been awarded on a few occasions, recognises that FAMCO has “met the majority of Volvo’s rigorous standards”; no dealership has ever been awarded gold certification.
The anouncement was made at Volvo’s global dealership summit in Shanghai.
“This is indeed a great honour for FAMCO and our Volvo Construction Equipment division. Achievement of this certification is a clear statement that FAMCO has been judged to have not only developed rigorous operational and customer centric management systems, but also to have implemented these systems effectively across all FAMCO operations in the UAE,” said Paul Floyd, Managing Director, FAMCO.
The assessment was conducted by Volvo Construction Equipment’s (Volvo CE) Swedish head quarters, during a visit to the FAMCO’s Dubai base. The team highlighted “excellence in general management and operational planning, staff training and sales and marketing activities”.
FAMCO is the UAE dealer for Volvo construction equipment, truck and buses. The assessment process is part of an annual process which aims to maintain standards and provide and performance.
“We at Volvo have high expectations and that’s why Volvo Construction Equipment is pleased to honour FAMCO with the silver certification in our partnership monitor programme,” Lars Haglund, President of Volvo CE International, said.
“Gaining this certificate is far from easy – and very few dealers have reached this advanced level. This status reiterates FAMCO’s consistency in surpassing the benchmark set by Volvo CE and we are extremely proud to have them as our UAE dealers. We wish them every success in graduating to the next level – the Gold Certification, yet to be achieved by a partner,” Haglund added.
In May, ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certified FAMCO also won ‘Material Handling Provider of the Year – 2011’ at the SCATA ceremony, Dubai.
“This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all of our employees who embrace Volvo’s superior global standards of operation, together with Volvo’s core values of quality, safety and environmental care,” said Floyd.
“I thank Volvo CE for recognising our capability and performance levels and our ambition now is to be achieve gold certification – an achievement that no Volvo distributor has yet reached,” Floyd added.
