Sweett Group, and contractors McLaren and Brookfield Multiplex were respectively adjudged winners of the top three positions at an industry event recently held in Dubai, UAE.
Property and infrastructure consultancy Sweett Group hosted a go-karting competition at the Kartdrome, a popular race track in Dubai Motor City. More than 70 industry professionals gathered at the outdoor track and competed in the race to win the grand trophy.
“This is the second Sweett Karting Challenge we have organised,” said Dima Qumsieh, business development manager for the company’s MENA operations. “To our pleasant surprise, the response has been fantastic and the interest keeps growing.
“It’s a great way to gather with our peers in the industry in a lighthearted, friendly race. That said, there were some keen racers and the competitive spirit on the night was electrifying,” she added.
The event commenced with a safety briefing session held by the Kartdrome management. This was followed by an initial practice race and a qualifying race; the group race conducted thereon saw Sweett Group emerge as winners for the evening.
Sweett’s recent effort highlights the significance placed on informal networking meetings by the construction industry in the UAE, and specifically in Dubai. Other similar initiatives in the emirate include the Young Entrepreneurs in Property (YEP) group, and Big Project ME‘s Golf Days, the next of which will be organised in April 2014.
