Mulk Holdings, a Dubai-based construction conglomerate has revealed its participation plans in the Ajman Airport project.
Director of the company Adnan Mulk, speaking exclusively to Big Project ME said tenders for the airport have been released, and his company has participated in the bidding process.
“We have submitted the bid for the cladding work on the airport project in Ajman,” Mulk said. “Mulk Holdings has also been contracted to provide cladding on the popular Ajman One project, and we’re hoping to secure the airport bid to further our presence here.”
The Ajman Airport project has been in the pipeline for almost a decade now. The market crash of 2008 impacted Ajman, leading numerous projects in the emirate to be put on hold. One of those projects was the airport, which has now been rebooted due to better funding options available to the authorities.
“An Airport City including residential buildings, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls and centres, is also under completion,” an anonymous government official was believed to have told Arabian Aerospace in February 2013.
“The northern Emirates; Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and the like could eventually become alternate holiday spots in the UAE,” said Mulk while explaining the need for an airport in Ajman. “Given their natural landscape, each of these emirates will make for excellent tourism hubs, and an airport that caters to these, from Ajman, will be an unquestionably lucrative addition to the emirate.”
This interview will appear as a part of ‘Ajman Market Review’ in Big Project ME‘s April 2014 issue.
