Managing director appointed as board member
Harald Kroll, managing director of BASF UAE has been appointed as a board member of the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK).
The board provides business support for German and Emirati companies to maximise their market position, organise delegation and take advantage of legal support and trade fair services.
“I trust my long business experience and the clout of the BASF brand in the region and globally will stand the Council and its members in good stead,” said Kroll.
The board is the first bilateral federal German business organisation as well as the first international institution on federal level founded in the Gulf, with committees and working groups in a number of sectors, including banking and finance, construction and infrastructure and health.
“I look forward to closer association with other successful companies in the region and to gaining greater insight and understanding, through interaction with the members of this Council, of the business opportunities, as well as the needs and challenges the country faces,” he continued.
Chemical company BASF provides products and solutions in climate protection, energy efficiency, nutrition and mobility and posted sales of €63.9 billion in 2010.
Kroll’s year-long appointment will run until June 2012.
