Following up on its earlier announcement regarding revamped methods of planning permit submissions, the Dubai Municipality recently interacted with the emirate’s contractor and consultancy community, expanding on these systems and other new online services it intends to implement.
E-building systems were mandated by the Municipality with effect from 1st May 2014, with the civic body issuing a circular for the same, dated 31st March 2014, to all consultancies and general contracting firms in Dubai.
The presentation delivered by engineering supervision section revealed a new set of e-services launched by the department, such as integration of e-systems of the Municipality and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA); e-submission of completion details; getting prior consent from Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) for the approval of new building systems; online services regarding registration, renewal, reopening; and data amendment for concrete manufactures and suppliers.
The department is also planning to unify application for telephone and electricity services to be submitted along with building permit application and this will be implemented within a month.
Additionally, the presentation introduced newly launched applications, including those related to green building and Building Information Modelling (BIM.)
