The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF) will be held between 28 and 30 September 2014, in collaboration with the Project Management Institute — UAE Charter, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Emaar Properties.
Project management has assumed importance with the RTA, whose project portfolio includes more than 250 projects with an annual aggregate budget of over $1.9 billion.
At a press conference held in the city, Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan, chairman of the higher organising committee and CEO of the RTA Licensing Agency said DIPMF will highlight Dubai’s keenness to establish itself as a solid international business partner.
“The initiative of holding the DIPMF by the RTA illustrates Dubai’s readiness to play a role in leading the development drive across the region.
“The forum aims to shed more light on Dubai as a leading city in the project management industry as its successes in the field are crystallised in a series of mega projects, such as Burj Khalifa, Dubai Metro, the city’s airport projects, giant ports and uniquely designed architecture, to name a few,” Bahrozyan continued.
Ms Laila Faridoon, director of the office of RTA chairman of the board and executive director, and director of event for DIPMF listed the sectors which will be covered as a part of the forum’s agenda. “The event will invite keynote speakers and project management representatives from diverse sectors. We are hoping to attract up to 2,000 attendees and 32 speakers.
“The topics discussed will include arts and culture, construction, sports, sustainability, smart cities and the Expo, besides to state few,” Faridoon added.
