Globalpharma cuts 11,400t of CO2 with solar expansion
The initiative supports the UAE’s clean energy transition and Net Zero 2050 strategy, promoting progressive decarbonisation of industrial operations in healthcare manufacturing
Globalpharma has said it has successfully reduced its carbon footprint by 11,400t of CO₂ at its manufacturing facility in Dubai Investments Park (DIP) through the installation of a 612kWp rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system.
The solar system is projected to generate 25.3GWh of clean energy. This energy will contribute to improved energy efficiency and a reduced reliance on electricity supplied by the grid.
The development of this solar system was a collaborative effort between Globalpharma and 386 Sky Solar Energy Systems. The partnership brought together Globalpharma’s expertise in operational optimisation with specialised knowledge in the deployment of industrial-scale renewable energy.
The solar installation has been implemented under the Shams Dubai program. The program allows for both on-site energy consumption and the export of excess power to the grid through a bi-directional metering system. This project marks a significant step in integrating clean energy into Globalpharma’s manufacturing operations, ultimately enhancing overall operational performance.
