A fire broke out in a residential building in Abu Dhabi earlier this week, reported The National.
The incident occurred on the seventh floor of a nine-storey building on Airport Road. One person is reported to have passed away of smoke inhalation after being trapped on the eight floor of the apartment block.
No further injuries of the inhabitants – who were rescued using cranes – were reported.
Additional reports by the local daily also informed the residents are shying away from returning to the apartment block, claiming it was always poorly maintained, dangerous and lacked facilities.
