Scania Commercial Vehicles India has launched its new models, the Scania R 580 V8 (6×4) truck and the P410 (8×4) Tipper, at the bC India in Delhi.

At the expo, the manufacturer also launched Scania Oil and Scania Fleet Management providing enhanced telematics services.

“It is a privilege to launch our products and services at Bauma Expo. This season of Bauma Expo is very significant to Scania as we are launching India’s most powerful on-road Truck R 580 powered with V8 engine, and in addition we are also updating our product portfolio with Scania P410 Tipper equipped with all new 20 cubic meter SSAB body to withstand the toughest mining conditions,” said Anders Grundströmer, Managing Director, Scania India and Senior Vice President, Scania Group.

The new Scania R 580 6×4 comes equipped with a V8 engine, and will offer high torque at low speed, essential for over-dimensional cargo transport. The P410 8×4 tipper, on the other hand, is an existing product that now comes with a 20 cubic meter rock body developed by SSAB, a producer of high strength steel.

The tipper is equipped with Scania Opticruise, a fully automated gear-changing system for fuel efficiency and ease of driving, and will now have an option of Idle Shutdown, a feature that can further lower fuel consumption.
