Chinese equipment manufacturer XCMG is highlighting a number of new machines it will launch at this year’s BICES (Beijing International Construction Machinery Exhibition & Seminar) show in Beijing, the 12th edition of the show.

XCMG will have a 1,200m2 indoor hall, making it the largest exhibitor in the indoor area. Three new major products will be on show, comprising the 1000K smart truck mounted crane, the XE370CA large-tonnage extractor and the XZ1000A horizontal directional drill that is dubbed as a “dragon underground”.

In addition to the display of many of its core products, XCMG will present a “sensational feast” for the audience—the simulation operating system of XCMG’s giant QAY500 all-terrain crane.

According to the company, the new products “represent world-leading technologies that it has developed in recent years in accordance with market demands, with major sci-tech innovations and independent intellectual property rights.”

BICES this year is expected to be a show of mixed opportunities, reflecting the current state of the Chinese construction machinery market. Many Western manufacturers are skipping the show after stretching their marketing budgets with Bauma in Munich this year. Meanwhile, many Chinese manufacturers did not exhibit at Bauma due to the logistical costs of shipping heavy equipment to Europe.

Nevertheless, the size of the show is expected to be far smaller than the last major show in China, Bauma China in Shanghai in late 2012, since many Chinese equipment manufacturers are hurting financially due to the industry slowdown.
