Space in Al Ruwayyah to be completed later this year
Dubai Municipality recently announced that it has begun the final phase of building the Dubai Truck and Used Spare Parts ?Market, having completed the road ?and related civil works, which make up 70% of the whole project.
The project, located in Al Ruwayyah 3 ?area is 421,000 m2 in size, and is expected to be ?completed in the third quarter of ??2014, said Khalifa Hareb, director of assets management department at the Municipality.
“The market includes 148 ?specialised showrooms and a ?sophisticated building. These will accommodate all types of ?businesses for the companies and ?institutions working within the scope ?of the market, as well as its visitors.
“The buildings will have basic facilities ?for tenants and visitors such as ?public washrooms, waste collection, ?security rooms, covered parking and so on,” Hareb continued. “?The main building will provide ?different government services ?related to the sector. The market ?will serve as a unique place for all types of businesses of trucks ?and spare parts.”
Part of the aim of the project is to gather sellers of trucks and spare parts in a single area, which will have the effect of “maintaining and ?improving the aesthetic view of the ?city, controlling the wrong practices ?resulting from scattered business ?and random distribution of truck and ?heavy equipment showrooms that ?adversely impact the public ?health, safety and environment,” explained Hareb.
“The project is considered one of the ?prominent specialised markets in the ?emirate of Dubai, considering the ?number of companies, institutions ?and individuals specialised in the ?trade of new and used heavy ?vehicles and equipments,” he added.
