Ariston donates and installs water heaters at Sonapur labour camp in Dubai

More than 750 individuals residing at construction labour camps are benefitting from an initiative unveiled by Ariston Middle East during Ramadan. The firm says its technicians replaced old water heaters with Ariston Blu R units covering 18 washrooms of the camp.

According to the firm, the washrooms are used by workers from two different companies – one being a construction establishment and the other an electromechanical company. The initiative ensures the hardworking residents of the labour camp have reliable access to hot water, improving their quality of life, health, hygiene, and wellbeing, the firm said.

Ariston Middle East’s dedication to the community is commendable, and their unique initiative during the holy month is poised to have a significant impact on the workers in the camp, the statement explained.

In late February 2019, Red Sea Global said it had begun operations on the Base Camp of the Red Sea Project and, in late April 2020, Muscat Municipality and Oman’s Housing Ministry allocated land for the construction of Labour City in the capital.

“We are a global company with strong local roots. ‘People and Communities’ is one of five focus areas of Ariston Group’s 2030 Vision. The bond with the local communities constitutes one of our founding values. This gesture symbolizes the ethos,” said Alberto Torner, Head of Ariston Group in the Middle East, Turkey, and Caucasus.

The firm pointed out that service technicians from the Ariston Service Centre inspected the facilities and worked out the type of water heaters that were needed, as well as the optimum capacity required. Based on the frequency of usage, the firm installed its Blu R water heaters which have enameled steel tanks, oversized magnesium anode and a tested pressure safety valve. The installed water heaters can generate 774L per day per tank, resulting in total hot water generation of more than 6000L per day.

Bathing in hot water has multiple health and wellbeing benefits that we often overlook. Hot showers promote blood circulation by widening blood vessels which improves thermoregulation and relaxation. Warm water also soothes sore muscles, lowers blood pressure, and benefits skin hydration and inflammation. Hot showers also have a therapeutic effect on congestion and headache that occur frequently during the cold and flu season, the statement concluded.

In late June 2020, Bahrain announced a midday work ban for July and August.
