Hyundai HI achieved over 60% market share in excavators and wheeloaders

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HI) had its highest market share globally for 2012 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with its distributor Motorcity receiving the ‘Best market share award’ from the Korean manufacturer.

Hyundai HI received a market share in the excavator and wheel loader segment of more than 60% during 2012.

Hyundai Heavy Industries president, B. K. Choe, presented Bashar Darkazalli, Motorcity CEO, and Arun Kumaar, Senior Sales manager at Motorcity Commercial Division, with the award in recognition of the market share feat.

According to Choe, “Hyundai’s unparalleled product performance, along with Motorcity’s strong sales and after sales support has contributed to these excellent results.”

Darkazalli commented, “We at Motorcity are proud to receive this prestigious award from Hyundai Heavy Industries, and we are positive with Hyundai’s unremitting support, we will continue to achieve excellent results during this year and the years to come.”

Globally Hyundai HI’s sales of construction equipment grew slightly, from $2.73 billion in 2011 to $2.77bn in 2012.

According to its recently-released 2012 annual report, in 2013 the company will aim steadily grow its market share by upgrading and expanding its sales network and service, as well as support operation, and will start up production at its first manufacturing facility in Brazil.
