Ammann trench roller goes into production

New compactor for trench compaction jobs

Following a strong showing at the Bauma 2013 trade fair, Ammann has begun production of the latest generation of the articulated Rammax 1575 CI trench roller at its Langenthal site in Switzerland.
The compactor can be used for a variety of jobs including trench and pipeline construction, backfilling for bridges and other structures, trench filling, and work in confined spaces.
The pendulum function of the articulated joint enables the machine to adapt to the substrate and ensures outstanding compaction results, by guaranteeing that all four drums remain in permanent contact with the substrate for ideal traction and compaction.
The machine is also designed with a low centre of gravity to increases stability and prevent tipping.
Improvements for the new model include safety, with the tried and tested infrared technology on the operator control, that causes the machine to shut down when the operator loses line of sight. Solar cells integrated in the remote control ensure the machine is always ready for operation, and twilight is sufficient for charging.
The 1575 CI is powered by a water-cooled diesel engine from Yanmar, for reliability, low noise generation and low fuel consumption.
Ammann has more than 40 years’ experience in the construction of these special machines based on the Rammax product range, the original trench roller.
