Subaru Emirates post jokes “women driver at it again” as family is killed in Dubai
“Women driver at it again” comment on Subaru Emirates Facebook page has been heavily criticised by users of social media website.
A picture of a crash that claimed four lives on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai with the caption “Women driver at it again” (sic) has been heavily criticised by users of social media website Facebook.
Subaru Emirates posted the picture after it was reported that four members of a family were killed over the weekend when their car collided with another vehicle that was stopped in third lane of the highway. According to local newspaper, Emirates 24/7, the driver of the stopped car ignored advice to pull the car into the hard shoulder after a puncture.
The newspaper added that the driver, described as a Jordanian female, was not in the car at the time of the accident. Emirates 24/7 reported: “The crash was so powerful that it pushed the four-wheel vehicle nearly 40 metres on the road. The accident resulted in the death of its driver, 34, another man, 60, a 28-year-old woman and a nine-month-old boy. Another woman in the car was seriously wounded.”
The Subaru Emirates Facebook page posted a picture of the crash with the following caption:
Women driver at it again.
An entire family has perished as a result of a grave mistake by a lady driver on SZR this weekend. A Jordanian woman parked her car right in the middle of the road on Sheikh Zayed motorway after it suffered a tyre puncture. She ignored the driver’s warning to take her car off the road and fix the tyre on the hard shoulder area.
Unfortunately a driver was passing through that area had warned the woman to instantly take her car off the road but she did not listen.
Call it her ignorance, 4 innocent soul (sic) paid with their life (sic) including a 9-month-old baby boy. Another woman in the car was said to be seriously wounded.
Well RTA cannot put extra parameters for women to check their presence of mind during crisis situation while driving, its (sic) all about being responsible drivers.
